Six Degrees of Rock is a community-built map of rock music history. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect and what we do with it.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request times) needed to operate, secure, and debug the site. Your sign-in session is stored on your own device so you stay signed in between visits.
We use your information to run the site: keep you signed in, display the graph and your contributions, send the notifications you asked for, and respond to your messages. That’s it.
We don’t sell your personal information. We don’t share it with advertisers. We don’t use it for anything you didn’t ask for.
A small number of providers process data on our behalf to keep the site running — currently our web host (Netlify) and our database provider (Neon). They only handle what’s necessary to operate the service.
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Email sixdegreesofrock@gmail.com and we’ll take care of it. Deleting your account removes your profile; contributions you made to the public graph (band entries, edits) may remain as part of the shared map.
Six Degrees of Rock isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and note it on the site.
